SPECIAL SHIPMENTS
Perishable Cargo
This special service is provided for the transportation of goods that, due to their nature (quick decomposition) require special handling

  • Live flowers

  • Fresh and/or frozen meat

  • Fresh food

  • Vaccines, etc...

Our large fleet boasts some aircraft with cold rooms and some with temperature control.

Live Animal

No matter what their size or type, we carry live animals using the proper equipment and personnel, transport the animals with respect, sensitivity, and responsibility.

Please bear in mind that the air transportation of any live animal is subject to special handling and to IATA regulations regarding the Transportation of Live Animals.

The shipper is responsible for the documentation, permits, labeling, and proper packaging of the shipment.

Note: For further information, please contact your local Aviancataca cargo representative regarding the conditions for the above services in your area.

Dangerous Goods

Our personnel are qualified to handle the shipment of hazardous goods according to customer needs, taking care of all operational details.

It is important to ensure that the substances or articles are properly identified, classified, packed, marked, labeled, and documented. They must also be in proper conditions to be transported, pursuant to effective IATA regulations regarding Hazardous Goods.
We offer the option of moving your cargo using our fleet of cargo aircraft, thus ensuring greater capacity and variety as the types of hazardous goods accepted are greater.

Some examples of hazardous goods are:

  • Compressed gases (flammable, non-flammable, and toxic)

  • Corrosive substances

  • Miscellaneous hazardous goods (commodities such as perfumes and cosmetics)

Note: For further information, please contact your local Aviancataca cargo representative regarding the conditions for the above services in your area.

Newspapers

We offer the service of sending newspapers and any other type of printed material, such as catalogs and magazines, on all of our routes.

Baring in mind that time is of the essence for newspapers, we recommend requesting the Must-Go service on the routes where this service is available.

Note: For further information, please contact your local Aviancataca cargo representative regarding the conditions for the above services in your area.

Human Remains

Human remains, ashes, and coffins are considered special shipments due to their sensitive handling. Therefore, they have top boarding priority over any other type of cargo on our routes.

Understanding our customers’ needs, we treat each shipment with tact and the utmost care, to ensure optimum arrival at the final destination.

Some of the documents that may be required for such transportation are listed below:

  • International transit permit for the human remains, issued by the health authority in the country where the death occurred

  • Embalming certificate

  • Death certificate issued by the competent authority in the country where the death occurred

  • Copy of the deceased person’s passport as well as of the passport of the relative or proxy requesting transportation.

In addition, please verify that the type of packing enables safe shipment handling:
  • Cremated Human Remains: must be packed in properly sealed funeral urns. Urns must be protected with outer packing, to avoid possible damage during transportation.

  • Non-cremated Human Remains: the airline allows two kinds of packing for this type of shipment:
Zeigler Unit: the remains must be placed in a hermetically sealed box reinforced with outer packing of pressed cardboard or wood, for maximum security. Coffins: commonly used for such situations; the coffin must also be reinforced with outer packing, consisting of a pressed-cardboard box or a wooden box

  • Exhumed Human Remains: the remains must be packed in the same manner as non-cremated human remains.

Note: For further information, please contact your local Aviancataca cargo representative regarding the conditions for the above services in your area.
